Corvintető (Corvin top) an underground club above the ground

When searching for a must-see place in the nightlife of Budapest, a different world of electronic music reveals itself for you, on the 4th and 5th floor of Corvin plaza. The main focus of the six-year-old (but newly renovated) club is on Hungarian and foreign electronic music events but it’s a venue for concerts and other types of happenings too.

So what’s all this?

From its enormous 600 square meter terrace on the top, you can appreciate the beautiful view of Budapest, even if you are far from being sober. There’s a bar there which enables you to maintain your alcohol-level, and a summer kitchen for concrete goods. Until 23:30 they have constant discounts on shots: Kalinka, Burn, Soproni Beer, Jägermesiter, their own Pálinka, all for 300 HUF (less than 1 Euro) but normal prices are quite good too (e.g., coffee from 300 HUF). The brand new addition of the terrace is a look-out tower, 4 meters above its level for smokers and for an even better sight of the city.

Besides the terrace, there are two rooms where you can party with other music lovers around the age of 20-40. In the bigger one, meet the newest electronic music provided by Hungarian and foreign DJs, as well as listen to indie music groups, and art events. 600 people may party here at a time, with 1800 astonishing LED lights above their heads.

The smaller room of Corvin top is quite new, was opened this spring, has its own bar and welcomes 150 party-animals besides the other room.

If you’re looking for a hideous place to chill-out, don’t go far, as the Bistro of the club is the one for you. It has its own terrace and bar where you can even smoke and the Bistro often becomes a venue for private events in summer.
